A college named after a judge.
Shurayh teaches classical Islamic studies and runs a counselling practice, from one address in Chipping Norton.
What Shurayh is.
Two things under one roof. A college that teaches Islamic studies in the evenings, and a counselling practice that sees people during the day — family, marriage and money.
They are together on purpose. The scholarship is what makes the counselling trustworthy, and the counselling is what keeps the scholarship attached to the lives people are actually living. Neither half would be as useful on its own.
It is small, and intends to stay small enough that the person teaching you knows your name.

He was a judge before he was a teacher.
He sat on the bench in Saudi Arabia, hearing the ordinary run of cases a court hears — marriages, disputes, debts, divorces. He holds a PhD, and then did something unusual: he came to Australia and took a Masters in Commonwealth law.
That combination is the whole reason this place works the way it does. Someone can sit in front of him with a problem that is half fiqh and half Australian family law, and get one answer instead of two half-answers from two different people.
He teaches the diploma and leads the college.

Sheikh Dr Mohammad leads the diploma. Short courses and workshops are taught by visiting teachers, named on each course page.

Qāḍī Shurayḥ
Appointed judge of Kufa by ʿUmar ibn al-Khaṭṭāb, he sat for some sixty years — through the caliphates of ʿUmar, ʿUthmān, ʿAlī and beyond.
The story everyone tells about him is this one. ʿAlī, then Caliph, came before him with a claim and no witness to support it. Shurayḥ ruled against him. The Caliph accepted the ruling.
That is the standard the college is named for: the evidence decides, and it decides the same way for everyone who walks in.
